On March 5, 2025, the Civil Society Consultation on Afghanistan’s Obligations under CEDAW brought together key voices advocating for Afghan women’s rights. During the event, Negina Yari, Board Director of Afghanistan Women Foundation (AWF), served as a panelist, highlighting the urgent need for justice, meaningful political and social participation, and strong international partnerships.
Yari emphasized that Afghan women are not passive victims but resilient leaders striving to reclaim their rights and shape the future of their country. She called for concrete actions from the international community beyond symbolic gestures, underscoring the necessity of sustained support for Afghan women’s civil, social, and political engagement. The discussion reinforced that Afghan women seek justice, not charity, and demand the right to define their own future with dignity and autonomy.
AWF remains committed to amplifying Afghan women’s voices and ensuring their rightful place in decision-making processes at all levels.
