Feroza Mushtari

Feroza graduated from Pune University (India) with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology at Arizona State University, USA.Feroza is one of Afghanistan’s leading women’s health advocates. Starting in 2004, she has worked with various national and international organizations on reproductive health especially maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health. Since 2005, she has held successively the post of vice president, president, and advisory board member of the Afghan Midwives Association. She has traveled to most provinces and met with women in order to address the challenges they face and highlight their contribution to developing their societies. She is also a member of the Advisory Board, the Afghan Midwives Association, and a member of the Afghanistan Cancer Foundation. Feroza’s career goal is to influence mental health programs at a policy level and to advocate for mental health care and psychosocial support for all in general and for those in conflict settings in particular.
